A Feast at Lobos Meat & Tapas: Spanish Flavours in the Heart of London Bridge

Tucked just steps from London Bridge at 14 Borough High St, Lobos Meat & Tapas brings the vibrant spirit of Spain right to the heart of London—and it’s a place where anyone from Latin America will feel right at home.

Whether it’s the aroma of sizzling chorizo or the sight of a golden tortilla, this is the kind of feast that transports you to a lively gathering with friends and family, Lobos doesn’t just serve food —they serve up flavours and feelings that take you back.

Starting with the Stars

We kicked things off with a classic Charcuterie Board that felt like an edible tour of Spain’s finest cured meats—chorizo Ibérico, salchichón, lomo, and jamón. Each bite was a little taste of Spain’s rich culinary heritage, setting the stage for what was yet to come.

Tapas to Tantalise

Here’s where Lobos shines, especially if you know that great meals come in small, shareable bites. We dove into a variety of traditional tapas that delivered on every promise:

  • Croquetas: Crisp on the outside, creamy on the inside—these golden bites, filled with ham, chorizo, and smoked bacon, offered pure comfort in every mouthful.
  • Tortilla Española: Layers of tender potatoes and onions with soft, gooey egg in the middle, perfectly browned on the outside. It’s the kind of bite that melts in your mouth and reminds you that sometimes, the simplest dishes are the ones that stay with you long after the meal. It’s that eggy centre—the stuff dreams are made of—that takes this classic to another level… It’s the kind of dish that feels like home, whether you’re in Spain or somewhere in Latin America.
  • Grilled Octopus: Tender, charred octopus paired with a vibrant romesco sauce and a squeeze of burnt lemon. A standout plate that stole the show.
  • Prawns in Garlic: Juicy prawns infused with garlic, chilli, and olive oil, bursting with flavour—every bite was a punch of Mediterranean sunshine.
  • Grilled Chorizo & Morcilla: These beauties vanished from the table in record time—none survived for the photos! The morcilla, creamy and rich, was the real star. Paired with a quail egg and piquillo peppers, it delivered a perfect harmony of textures and flavours. Let’s be honest: no one does morcilla quite like Spain or Latin America, and this version was no exception.

For the Carnivores

If you’re a meat lover, Lobos delivers in spectacular fashion. Every dish was cooked to perfection and packed with flavour:

  • Ribeye & Foie Gras: A luxurious combination of tender ribeye steak and pan-fried foie gras, offering a rich, indulgent pairing that’s pure decadence.
  • Chuletón: A massive 600g sirloin on the bone, grilled to perfection and perfect for sharing—juicy, tender, and full of flavour, one to quickly become the star attraction!

Sweet Endings with a Savoury Twist

To finish off the meal, we indulged in desserts that were both rich and comforting:

  • Double Chocolate & Pistachio Cake: This decadent, velvety chocolate cake was elevated by the savoury note of pistachios—an unexpected twist that made each bite more irresistible than the last.
  • Dulce de Leche Cheesecake: Creamy and decadent, with a caramel swirl that will have you licking your fork clean.
  • Crema Catalana: A refreshing take on a Spanish classic, with a citrus-infused cream and a perfectly caramelised top.
  • Dulce de Leche Ice Cream: Sweet, creamy, refreshing and the perfect way to end a feast—it’s the little treat you didn’t know you needed.

Wines to Raise a Glass To

Our meal was beautifully complemented by two stellar Spanish wines:

  • La Viña de Amalio 2020 (Ribera del Duero): A bold Tempranillo bursting with dark fruits and spice, perfectly paired with the richness of the meats.
  • Pétalos Viñas Viejas 2021 (Bierzo): This refined Mencía offered fruit-forward elegance with a touch of minerality, a great match for the more delicate flavours on the menu.

For those craving a taste of Spain or looking to explore its bold, authentic flavours, Lobos Meat & Tapas at London Bridge (or their Soho location!) is a hidden gem worth discovering. Whether you’re from Spain, Latin America, or just a fan of great food, this little corner of London will leave you with the feeling of “panza llena, corazón contento”—a full belly, a happy heart.
